Hi Colin what we have done in the past is award the person who has done OOD
average points for that particular race.
Would it be better if I used Position Percentage of boats in the race using
50% which would do the same for that particular race.

Hi there in the Scoring code section I have just noticed that it states

for OOD Average all , as we might only do one or two OOD's in a season can
the Result code be altered so that it will give an average for that
individual race.

We have at the moment around 15-20 different series or individual races,

can the Scoring code be altered in one move to cover all the races the races
as I have already set them up for 2003.

Not sure I follow you... if you get series scores (points) of
1,1,1,OOD,1,4,4 you'll be awarded 2 points for your OOD. Do you
require a different behaviour to that?

Oh I see; you're talking about the average points of all the other
boats in that race. I don't think I'd ever volunteer to be the RO if
my club did that :slight_smile: Perhaps I'm still misinterpreting you, but it
seems a terribly unfair mechanism; the OOD getting lumbered with
*more* points as s/he has to manage *more* boats; eouch!!

I could add a new method that worked like that. Not sure of the
percentage penalty code method; you'll have to try it and see.
