Not sure how other people handle but you could make use of the import export
feature. Export the days racing results to a spreadsheet; delete the
individual races and import the overall result for the day into your series.
You would then have one .blw file per day of racing and one for the series.
By using the import export feature you avoid all the double entry.

Is it possible to run a series, consisting of a number of fixture dates with
a multiple of races per fixture date.
An example is a series of racing events at a variety of venues round the
country through the year. Each venues results are resolved to a ranking for
that event (and prizes awarded). The results of each event, (as a resolved
ranking) is then carried forward into the series scoresheet. Thus the days
racing for each venue event appears in the series as though it was a single
race. The resolution for the series then determines the annual championship
Can Sailwave accommodate this method of score keeping?

Hi Roy,

I would suggest creating a separate Sailwave file for each "fixture date"
(event?).

Then, create a new file, with no races (The series scoresheet). Use the
sailwave File->Merge option to merge in each of the "event" files. In the
merge options, you will have the opportunity to select: "Merge competitors
and create a new race using the series ranks from the merged series". This
will create a single race in the series scoresheet which will use the
overall rankings from all the races in the event file.

Have I explained this clearly enough, or do I need another cup of coffee,
and try again?

Regards,
Patrick
