[sailwave] discards

Agree that Hvard's solution works but it does make the results rather
difficult to read with lots of zeros, especially if there are lots of races
in the series (obviously unavoidable if decimal point redress is awarded).

Would support Laura's request for an alternative

A workaround is to use one (1) decimal in the scoring. This leaves 4.0 with
a visible change if discarded. To change the numbers of decimals used click
"scoring system" and change the "Round points to this many decimal places"
to 1 instead of 0

Alternative ways of showing a discard might be (4.0) or [4.0].

Hi Laura

I have to agree in that when a fourth place is discarded, there is no
visible change to the 4 to show the discard. I would also like to
suggest that an alternative discard indicator be used.

Hi
Having just scored the Tiger Trophy at RSC (my largest number of results
entries so far - nearly1000) I was a bit perturbed when someone queried

the

discards they and others had been awarded. When I investigated it was a
complete misunderstanding of he printout - the cross through lines, on the
website, made the 9 look like a 0. The complainant was mortified but then
did point out that there were others ways of showing the discard -

brackets

or shading - that might have meant the confusion not arising in the first
place.

Can Sw do this or is it limited to the 1 format?
