[sailwave] Elapsed Time Scoring

John;
You enter a start time when you are using Time of Day scoring. When you
enter a start time for the 1st member of each fleet it uses that time for
all other members of that fleet. Sailwave requires a start time with Time
of Day scoring to calculate the delta from start Time of Day to finish Time
of Day. With elapsed time scoring Time of Day means nothing. The score
sheet has time like 48 minutes 23 seconds which is the time from the 1st
flag up in the starting sequence to the finish of that boat. The delta from
the 1st flag to the start of that boat's fleet must be subtracted from the
elapsed time on the scoring sheet. Our old scoring program, that was
written by one of our club members, had an input for start time correction.

If Sailwave doesn't have this feature, I don't see the need to add it now.
I will simply require our Race Committees to use Time of Day scoring. If it
is in the program already, I can let them do whatever suits their fancy.

Wouldnt you enter this as a start time for each race?
I think colin added stuff so you could have a different start time for each
fleet if you have multiple fleets in one file.

Our club has historically timed races using stop watches. The
procedure we
have used is multiple stop watches are started simultaneously
with the first
flag of the starting sequence. The first start is then at 5 minutes, the
second at 10, etc. This time must be subtracted from the time that is
recorded on the scoring sheets to obtain the elapsed time for Portsmouth
scoring. Is there any way that I can input a delta that is to be
subtracted
from the raw elapsed time data for each fleet? This would be similar to
inputting a different time of day for each fleet in the time of
day option.

Sure.
But if you set the start time to the offset then you achieve what you want.
Ie the clocks start at 00:00:00
First fleet starts at 00:05:00
second fleet at 00:10:00

and youre finish times are 00:48:32 etc.
