[sailwave] Electronic sign-on

Thanks Jon,
This is for club use only so Google forms maybe an option, or could something like XL be set up to compile the CSV?
Next issue is if the sign on device produces one CSV and a RC Pro compiles a results file, how could the time keeper apply one to the other?
I know a couple of local clubs are using electronic sign on and will find out how they are doing it.

Hi, new, not very Sailwave compliant and past 50, so please speak slowly!

I know some clubs are using electronic sign-on and it seems a neat solution, but only if there is an advantage.

Where can we get our hands on electronic sign-on software?

How would the file be handled? and how can race times be added?

We are also looking at things like the RC Pro timer.

Many thanks

Hi Tim. Sailwave can handle import and export of data quite efficiently and with a bit of effort can be totally automated. The RC Pro web site no longer seems to exist. www.rc-pro.co.uk so I can’t comment on how they are currently do their transfers but it did previously export to Sailwave. If you have some money to spend on it then there are lots of options

Hi Tim,

There are several companies which will do online registration for a small fee - which is fine if especially if you are collecting a registration fee.

If its simply for your own club use you could look at Google Forms which are free and you can design them to suit your requirements. Sailwave can import the data using the csv import or some more methods if want to do a little development.

When you say race times do you mean results. These can be either keyed directly into Sailwave or imported from a csv file. Or again with some development it could be totally automated.
