I also like the e-mail format, it is more focussed and less open to vacuous
comment and trivia than a less attributable forum.
I have been a mostly passive observer of the discussion and development over
the past year, but have been very impressed with the obviously high degree of
knowledge and co-operation of the Sailwave user community.
I have not observed or detected any of the less helpful comment seen in most
other open UG's.
If any one is feeling 'swamped' with e-mail, it is easy to set up a Sailwave
only e-mail address, most isps allow multiple e-mail accounts.
My vote would be to keep it as is (and also keep Colin as a much valued
member of the user group)
Regards,
Andy
It costs nothing to have a hotmail, yahoo, lycos email account which you can set up purely for sailwave. the emails themselves are not desperately big so it would take forever to fill up 5 - 10 meg of messages. alternatively as John Risch mentioned set up filter rules in outlook to put anything with “sailwave” in the subject to a seperate folder.
