[sailwave] Having a pool of ROs using Sailwave - integrity of series data

This has been the main reason we have not yet adopted Sailwave for all of our
regular series.
When a single series is under 'expert' control we use Sailwave, otherwise
revert to paper!
Look forward to the ongoing discussion.

Andy

Backup regularly!

Can you or somebody else summarise the resulting requirements for a security
scheme on the WishList (on the documentation pages of the web). Ditto any
other facilities that the group would like to see... Most of the Sailwave
doc is writable by users who have registered with the documentation system;
you can do this on-line from the doc itself.

FWIW, what we do at Mumbles is that the RO records the data and the 'results
person' (John in our case) takes it home does the actual Sailwave stuff and
publishing, update web site etc. The results can still be out within a
couple of hours... Sometimes if there time John will use the club computer
to get the results out there and then.

NB: I'm trying to catch up on some promises and am trying to ignore my email
at the moment. Be back on planet Earth soon.

NB: Bill, that should answer your query about RindereleB...

Colin

Hi Colin

Backup regularly!

it is an option which i do but I don't check the previous data, it would be very easy to
alter the club master file previous results and then when I back this file up it would
overwrite my "correct" copy. Once its done then you have lost the correct data. I'd
thought about storing each weeks racing as a seperate back up file but it would take
a lot of checking if it ever did need to be done. It might be easier than the work
involved on adding this kind of feature to Sailwave

Short request added, sure others will contribute as well.

Same system I'm operating, it works well provided I'm at the club every weekend but
I'm not. We need a "learn sailwave' tutorial video  Hum, might try and pull a
powerpoint or QuickTime presentation together as I've been asked by a few members
to show them how it works.
