I have been asked if Sailwave can be used with the US Sailing High Point percentage system (as attached)
I reckon race scoring can be done within Sailwave, but that the data would have to be exported to Excel for the series scoring. Perhaps a `helper' style system?
A similar question was asked on the user group in 2013. Huw commented, but no other answers. Anyone using this system?

We used to use a variant of the US Sailing High Point system (PHRF of the Chesapeake) until we transitioned to Sailwave 2 years ago. Our prior scoring system was excel based and used macros to compute the actual high points scores. If throw-outs are included, there is no closed form solution to determine the optimum number of throw-outs (the best high points can result with throw-outs anywhere within the range of 0 to max number of throw-outs) and a brute force method for computing all potential cases is required. Excel cannot do that without macros.
I have developed a set of macros that will process our version of the published results to compute the high points and then repopulate the published page with the new results. Again, this requires intimate knowledge of the published Sailwave results and VBA. Therefore, I am really hesitant to provide the code since it may cause more problems than it cures.
We currently use Sunset High Points, and the final standings agree mostly with the ranking using PHRF of the Chesapeake. Sunset is easily implemented in Sailwave.
If Jon et al do decide to implement something to support US Sailing High Points, I would like to participate in the discussion.
