I'm maintainer of the Sailwave entry in the WineHQ Application Database.
Based on my recent tests, and the comments that I've heard from others recently, I've upgraded Sailwave's status from "Gold" (almost everything works), to "Platinum" (everything works out of the box) for Sailwave version 2.4.1 on Linux Mint 12 (64bit) using Wine version 1.3.35. This includes the font problem.
If others have similar experiences on other versions of Linux and Wine, please let me know by PM (andy@sailor.nu).
I also need to know if anything, and I mean *anything*, is not working on Sailwave under Wine, so that I can update the application entry accordingly.
Thanks Andy. I’ll link to the page form the
Sailwave site somewhere and write a note about it

Just another datapoint on this... I tried installing sailwave 2.4.7 on the version of wine contained in the Linux Mint 12 system repository and experienced the same issue described here with the app appearing momentarily and then disappearing. The wine version turned out to be 1.3.28.
I then installed wine1.3 from the winehq ppa as described here - http://www.winehq.org/download/ubuntu and it turns out this is actually wine-1.4-rc2. Sailwave 2.4.7 now seems to be working fine.

If the Mac works in same way as Windows PC & Linux, Sailwave
should just work with Dropbox. Under Windows & Linux Dropbox is
just a folder and Sailwave works with folders.
I use Dropbox under Windows and Linux so I can use the same Sailwave
files and so far have had no problem. Under Linux that is a slightly
added complication as my Linux instances are actually running in a
virtual machine envirnoment for which I use Virtualbox.

I have not tried Dropbox much, but i think you need to
install the “Windows version” into WinOnX to get it work.
