About backups:
I'm using Norton 360. There is an automatic (and almost continuous) backup of all DATA (mainly types identified by extension as documents or images, default NO videos, in the 'documents" folder and selected folders).
After a disk failure, I could recover almost all except ... my sailwave files.
So the file type .blw is now defined as file to backup AND the default folders where they can be saved too.

My experience is that restore of single files from a Norton 360 Backup is a long, slow and nasty job, and usually it doesn't work. Full restore works, but... this is an incremental backup. When files are removed from the HDD to save space, they are NOT removed from the backup, when you move files, to another folder, you could restore several occurrences of the same files. And you are exposed to a dramatic congestion of the HDD...

Backup is done on a 1Tb external disk on wireless network, the disk is not at the same location, three-montly copies of the same faile are done manually on DVD, these DVD are stored at another place..
