[sailwave] PY Handicap Adjustment

Sam,

I’m not sure if Colin has anything in the pipeline, but Sailwave does not do this at present. I have a spreadsheet I use to do this and pass the data onto the Handicap Committee at HRSC - using the process defined in YR2. I am happy to forward this to you for you to play with and Talk it through with you.

Andy.

I am in the process for converting our club’s cruiser scoring onto Sailwave
and I am just left with one issue.

In our current (over complex) excel based system it automatically calculates
the PY adjustments (eg. average corrected times, performance numbers…). Is
the any way this can be achieved within Sailwave?

Regards

Sam Kent

I will also be interested in any spreadsheet like this. (and for a feature like this to be added to SW)

Terry.

Ok Terry,

I’ll send you and Sam a copy.

I need to write a few words about how to use it to make it easier - it isn’t complicated, but you need to know where to start.

If you can check out the guide and let me know if it reads right, I’ll make it generally available.

Agreed, it would be nice to have something in Sailwave in time.

Andy.

Hi Andy,

Do you do it on a per serieies basis or as if all the smaller series were one big series? I’ve looked at it a few times but get confused by YR2 which I find ambiguous… I’ll have another go soon and get back to you with Qs…

Regards,
Colin

Hi Colin,

Our interpretation is a minimum of 4 races. We do 6 race series, and so go with that. However, we do exclude races that are extreme in conditions, light or heavy airs, when it come to adjustment, so 6 probably works well for us.

Andy.
