[sailwave] Ratings

Thanks Collin. I had none clicked for the scoring. We are two races into
our six race spring series. Five races are Phrf time on time, one is an
equalizer (everyone's start time is figured by the handicap and
theoretically everyone should finish at the same time. Your actual finish
place is your final place.). I could not seem to get the program to score
the individual race differently under one series?

I have scored Pursuit races many times with Sailwave. The way I do it (which
may not be the best way) is to enter each boat's start and finish time and
then let PHRF handle it. It works perfectly, just takes a little more data
entry time.

Hi Chris,

Currently each race in the series uses the same rating system.
However, becasue Sailwave allows start/finish times and rating values
per competitor per race you can do it - although it's a bit
cumbersome:-

1. As Bill said, set the start finish times appropriately for that
pursuit race.

2. Override everybody's rating for **that race** (Edit+Result) to
the same so they equal out; preferably so that the elapsed=corrected
but that's not absolutely necessary.

3. Score the series.

NB: Sailwave's 'flat' data structure WRT starts means that things
like this can be done, but I need to add more helpers so it's not
such of a pain... It's something I've been thinking about this
evening in fact; my neighbours have been laughing at me pacing up and
down the patio; I think best in motion...!

Regards,
Colin
