Thank you for the reply. Below is a description of how the event will be sailed. I tried setting up a new event in SW and although the assign flight feature works I couldn’t get it to score by flight or accept that start 1 would be yellow and start 2 would be blue of race 1.
I received another email from the SW group suggesting that until SW is fully tested we should use ZW. However since I use SW for other events I’d like to figure out how to use it for the Miami regatta too. In any event we will probably have the normal scoring program going as well which is Javascore and they are working to upgrade it as I write this.
thanks

Laser Course Groupings:
For day one we divide the fleet into Yellow and Blue fleets and they race in those groups for all races that day.
For day 2, we re-divide the fleet into different Yellow and Blue fleets, based on their scores for day 1. First goes to Blue, second and third go to Yellow, fourth and fifth go to Blue, sixth and seventh go to Yellow, and so on.
At the end of day 2, we divide the fleet into Gold and Silver. Top half of Yellow and Blue to Gold, bottom halves to Silver, and they race in the Gold and Silver for 2 days.
At the end of the 4thday, the top ten boats of the Gold fleet go off to a medal race. They are guaranteed the top ten places in the final standing, no matter what happens. The medal race counts double points and cannot be excluded. The rest of the Gold fleet sails a consolation race, and is scored in places 11 through the end of their fleet, based on their series score.
On the last day, the Silver fleet sails one more race, and they are scored in order below the Gold fleet.
When scoring a flighted event like this you don’t “score by flight” - that will give separate results for each flight - you choose the option to score everybody as one group - then the multiple - firsts can kick in. See the overview in the help file. Try that and if you’re still having problems post the .blw file to the group.

I have tried to follow your example and ended up to the finals. I haven’t done the consolation races. Should be in a separate file (my guess) Another file should be used for the silver group.
Youd did not tell exactly how to score the others except for the medalists race. so I couldn’t finnish them, but I hope this would give you an idéa of how it could be.
I did not use code results. This was just a five minute test. Files are included.
