Colin.
I had the same over the weekend and went back to using an older version of
Sailwave where things worked ok.
I downloaded 1.46 & the latest PY csv file from the web site.
Copied the file into the ratings folder where it could be edited from the edit
ratings menu.
Set the series properties to use RYA PY numbers but couldnt ever get boats to appear
in the edit competitors pull down.

I cant remember whether i went back to 1.44 or 1.45 but whichever it was it worked
fine.
This was on Windows 2000.
Ratings files definately looked ok to me in excel, but i didnt check with notepad.

Not sure whether it helps you much.
I dont have access to the system i was using at the moment so i cant investigate further
for you until tomorrow evening.

I have exactly the same problem - I can see in the dropdown any
classes which I have entered previously (for another competitor) but
not for classes I haven't yet entered.

So if I've manually entered, say, a RS400 and a RS300, both appear
with the correct PY No in the dropdown and I can select them for
other competitors - but if I want say, a RS800 then it doesn't exist
in the dropdown

Hope this makes some sense - I put it down to seeing somewhere
problems with XP? Or am I being stupid?
