[sailwave] Sailwave license agreement

David;
Our sailing club is also a not for profit organization. We have links on
our website to boat manufacturers, boat dealers, parts suppliers and off
course to Sailwave. We do not profit from any of those links. Many of them
have links to our site. We do not profit from those links either. I fail
to see how your club feels that associating with any commercial organization
impacts your non-profit status. Does your club own any Race Committee
boats? Did your buying them affiliate you with the commercial organization
that you bought them from? I don't think so. The purchase price to your
club for the use of Sailwave is to maintain links to the product. I feel
that is a very reasonable and generous request. If that price is too high
for you, you can purchase another product with $'s and eliminate the
commercializing link.

My post earlier today appears to have lost its content. I'll re-
compose it as best I can.

I hate to be the squeaky wheel but requiring that a live link be
included with the race results may preclude my club from using
SailWave because it conflicts with our Commercialism Policy.

Colin, I ran your earlier request - to keep the URL in the results
and post something on our website about SailWave - by our
Commercialism committee. They agreed wholeheartedly that we should
acknowledge using SailWave to manage race results, but they felt we
could not post a live link to the SailWave site.

As a non-profit (or is that not-for-profit, I never know)
organization we cannot appear to be affiliated with any commercial
enterprises without jeopardizing that status. While SailWave is not
a commercial enterprise today, it may become so in the future, as
you yourself have mentioned.

As everyone else has already stated we love the product, are very
grateful to your for your efforts and want to give you the
recognition you deserve. If you could require a written reference
to SailWave instead of a live link we would be happy to comply (and
indeed already planned to).
