[sailwave] Sailwave-Online

Hi Colin

You are suggesting that you need a better name.
Having established "Brand" recognition, to change now would need a serious
reason.
Think of all the examples in the commercial world where the actual word is
quite grim but due to the performance of the product, the name has become
synonymous with something which is good & desirable. e.g. You obviously rejected
calling it Jenkins when Mssrs Biro & Ford didn't etc etc.

I for one find it easier to refer to 'Sailwave' rather than 'Bob McPherson's
software'
The name is easy to pronounce & if you want to be really analytical, it could
be argued that the name aptly describes the 'highs and lows' of regatta
scoring

If it aint broke, don't fix it & keep up the good work.

Regards
Ralph

Hi Ralph,

Sorry, I wasn't clear; I meant a better name for the online registration
database system - currently it's called Sailwave-Online. Currently I have:-

Sailwave - windows software
Sailwave-Net - forums etc
Sailwave-Online - regatta database

Would never change the Sailwave name itself - especially since it's unique
within Google... and of course because my wife came up with it

I'd be tempted to leave it a Sailwave-Net or, and I hestitate to say
this, "mySailwave". Even Sailwave-Club.

Mike

mySailwave is trendy but I not sure I can bring myself to use it...
Sailwave-Net is a different thing, so I've called it Sailwave-Event for now.
perhaps I should get rid of all the name and just label stuff by the
functionality.
