[sailwave] Texel Ratings file needed?

Hi Jeroen and Collin,

Nice to see you converted to sailwave too. In our club (Hellecat) we use
Sailwave to score various events based on Texel rating. There is only a
limited numder of different boattypes at the start (not more than 10). So we
did not bother about coverting all the texel rating entries to Sailwave.

However on the 28th of September we are organising one of teh biggest
catamaran regatta's on inner water with approx. 300 entries (RTG Ronde
Tiengemeten). So a conversion from the Texel Rating to the Sailewave rating
would be very helpfull.

I have one suggestion. In the near future we will convert to ISAF rating. I
would be helpfull to have the same naming for the boattypes both for Texel
as for ISAF SCR so you could change easily and do some testing on the
consequences for big regatta's.

A question for Collin how far are you with importing results only based on
Sailnumber and Elpsed time into a race populated with 300 entries. This
would be very helpfull to score the above mentioned race

Best regards,

Wim Plokker

Hi all,

I work closely with the Texel Rating Committee. I am willing to
create a rating.txt file for all Sailwave users with most of the
Texel Rating numbers (one-offs excluded). However, since version 3 of
the Texel Rating standard, two ratings are calculated for all boats:
one with a spinnaker, one without. For most boats, this is quite
straightforward:
"Texel","Hobie 16","117",""
"Texel","Hobie 16 + spi","113",""
For others, it is not so simple: the Formula 18 is only class legal
with a spinnaker. Personally, I am used to this, but how can I best
help other users?

Suggestions please.

Hi,

Sailwave now has facilities to update all competitors with equivalent
ratings from different ratings files as long as the rating files are
consistent WRT class names. The other item you mention is on the todo list;
no progress so far.
