Lol thanks Paul, I wouldnt say that exactly.

The ability to change configs and correct class names, perhaps due something as simple as a typo coming through from sailwave is something ive been asking Simon and the RYA for from the start. It can be a right pain if you dont spot it, upload and import your entire series race by race only to have to go back to square 1 as you've called the same boat something different, eg RS300 and RS 300 give separate lines and wouldnt be combined even though you would want them too.

As for getting some funny results from the system i agree in places. I think Simon is aware of an issue with the same boats bring in several races on the same day causing issues on the "your return" page. I think its been resolved on the "suggested handicap" page.

I've not used the PYS for cruisers but will have a look at the issues.

Mike, you most certainly arnt the first to use it for cruisers.

I have been putting Thornbury SC results including Fast & Slow handicap dinghies plus cruisers onto the system for all of last year.

There are plenty of quirks most of which were answered by Chris. The only real issue I've noted with cruisers is that you need to be careful that you have the configurations labelled correctly not only for the particular boat but also consistently from race to race. At one point I ended up with the same boat in for about 4 or 5 races with different recommeded handicaps from each race due to mitakes.

If you need any help, I can try or defer to Chris, he is the PYS Jedi!!!!

Have now had i/d from RYA and got the upload to work. I had to delete
all non PY fleets by hand. Am now discovering various issues with the
way PYS works, and maybe I am the first club trying to use it for cruisers.
