Sailwave ver. 1.9 xx

Hi, Colin & Ralph! (++)

It looks like there is a "new drive" in the regatta season around the world.... There are still 3 months until the season starts here in Norway, so I do have some time for preparation...

It looks to me that alot of peoples are a little confused by all new stuff and some "moving around" functions...

I started out writing a "step-by-step" usersguide for App.LE add.C series, but stopped cause SW stuff was changing to much and moving around.

As I see it now, things has stabelized more in later versions. If Colin can confirm that the "moving around" will stop for a while, I will consider making the users guide again.

Any comments?

Hi Martin,

Wait until the next release - you are right - I'm having many many parallel
private conversations about the same thing - i.e. "help it's all different
and I don't understand it" - but I can see some things that can changed
without compromising anything recent that will help it look more like 1.57.
It's my own fault for leaving such a huge time between publishing a new
public version. I will not do that again - all new version swill go on teh
web and if there's a problem I'll fix it quickly.

BV: there is a section in the help file for 3rd party help so I will put
your doc in there when done, thanks. There is a AddC outline in there now.

Regards,
Colin

Hi Martin

Like you, I stopped trying to write notes in view of the regular changes
Although SW may be stabilising, not sure if AppLE & AddC are.

Before you finish your Help notes, we may need to see how Submission 025 develops (see attached)

Sail Melbourne is using the new format & I am picking up results each day so that we can see how SW
copes & what need to be done to meet this new format.

Unfortunately, Melbourne don't have a large enough entry so we cannot fully test SW seeding,
flights, reassignment, with the new format etc
But this could also be a bonus as we only need to consider that last race issues for the top 10 &
then test it fully when the Olympic Class Regattas start up in Europe.
Miami NOR includes option for Flights but not last race finals

I hope to be able to produce a short summary for Colin after Melbourne

Regards
Ralph

Martin

Just picked up an amendment to Miami NOR establishing that they will be sailing to Submission 025.
The entry looks to be very good at this stage so good chance that it will be Qual & Finals for some
classes, as well as a Medals race at the end.

If you want to follow details, web site is as below & actual racing starts Jan 22
http://www.ussailing.org/olympics/RolexMiamiOCR/regatta/index.htm
