Sailwave version 1.70 is available.

Sailwave version 1.70 is available.

Installation file:-
http://www.sailwave.com/binary/sw170.exe (1.5Mb)

Change history:-
http://www.sailwave.com/index.php?page=history

Development plan:-
http://www.sailwave.com/index.php?page=devplan

Notes:-

Huw P - HP scoring in your context not fixed yet.

Ralph T, Martin B, Mark T, Mike B, et all. This version will allow you to
manage an App LE Addendum C type series. Use the Tools+FlightAssignment tool
to assign race flights as and when you desire througout the series. The
scoring algorithms **and the SailNo wizard** (etc) are aware of these race
flights. The Assignment tool is suitable for qualifying assignments and
finals assignments. For initial assignments based on ISAF rank say, use a
spare column for ISAF rank, sort by that column, then run the tool and
select the "equal groups" assiggnment method and assgn flights to race 1.
When viewing the main series, use the drop down "View" thing in the series
toolbar (also operated via F6 now) and choose "race flights" to review your
assignments. You can also manually edit them if things change a bit. This
(race flights view of series) is currently where you would also publish the
flight assignments - this needs extending to be in a better format. Current
limitations:- can't specify that N,M discards must from from quals, finals.
Cannot do 20.4(d) tie breaking. Cannot mark a race as 'ignore me' which can
be needed if more than one flight does more qual races than the others.
These are relative minor tweaks that's I'll do ASAP.
Note that because the sailno wizard knowns race flights from day to day you
can just enter all the sailnumbers from all the race courses and Sailwave
will assign the appropriate place (as long as you have set up starts for
each flight).

I have taken on board comments WRT input of results and have started work
on a real spreadsheet type input wizard - for results and competitors. It
means you don't have to mess with excel and import etc and will also give
more feedback than excel because it knows more about the context. Ditto
place rearranger. While Sailwave is primarily a scoring tool, slick input
of competitors and results is essential.

Interestingly enough the flight stuff has been an enabler for personal
handicaps - I envisage a tool similar to the flight assignment tool that can
assign PHs for race N as a mnaual op (based on an expression involving last
BCH, default rating, average MCH to date, etc etc).

Critical feedback always welcome.

Colin J

Hi Colin,

Could you generalize the ISAF sailor screen so that you could put in a web address in addition to or in place of the ISAF sailor.
I would like to import a skippers website collected using my registration system and map it to this field in sailwave and then be able to click on it in the published results page linked to the helm just as your ISAF sailor tab works now.

This could generate a lot of fun if people built a page with picture, resume's (smack and other chest thumping type stuff) etc that people would see in the results html.

Thanks
Mark Schneider
