Hope you had a good vacation.
I still don't know what to tell you that I need here. (other
then it's not
working)
My problem is that I collect on line registration data. People describe
their boat class with several variations on a theme... eg. A Cat...
Aclass... A Class A-Class
ONLY one of which will match your record in your handicap database.
What to do now... I am not sure.
I use to load all the entries as is and then edit each
individual entry and
change the boat class to the proper one that was in the database
manually.
I can't do this now. Sailwave 1.82 will update the rating and
fill in the
rating lines on the entry form ONLY if the boat is not a match to the
database and you are changing the boat class from an unlisted
varient to
one that is in the database... you suck in the rating info and
see it in the
proper boxes. .... IF the names match exactly... however you can't get
sailwave to load the rating at all. This is the current problem
after your
last fix.
Previously I would hit the update ratings button and see which
boats did not
match and then go fix them manually.
This just seems silly to do this manually. So the next thing I
do is sort
the csv file and change the names in groups to what I have used
in the PN.
database so they will match... (but the bug in sailwave won't let
me update
the ratings with the matching name)
It seems to me that their ought to be an easy way to do this. I
have lots
of information in the csv on line registration file... but it
seems to take
forever to set up a regatta this way.
I can't make sense out of what to do here though.
So I am just confused about the whole thing.
