[sailwave] Wind Index Numbers

Colin -

Thanks for the quick reply. I Googled PHRF a few different ways and came up
with the following links which helped me and may help you as well.

http://www.cs.brown.edu/people/jfh/personal_other/boats/FAQ/node13.html

Just so I am straight, see if I am understanding the wind indexing fields.

In the Scoring System under the Rating System tab I have selected PHRF ToT.
At the bottom there are "A" & "B" fields and then at the right under Wind
Indexing I have selected "Use Wind Indexing". I understand that the wind
strengths can be labeled as anything and should be separated by commas. Do I put in
an "A" value for every wind strength separated by a comma and likewise with the
"B" values? If so, what are the "A" & "B" fields on the left side for. Do
you use those if you are not going to use wind indexing and simply maintain a
constant value?

Thanks again -

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the links.

There are 2 ways to use wind indexing. You can have wind indexed boat
rating values (as I described) and/or wind indexed rating system A/B values
for PHRF or custom rating systems. If you don't want to use wind indexed
A/B values, use the fields on the left and ignore the wind indexed fields.
The user interface could do with a bit a a makeover I woud agree.

Does that helop...? If not, get back to us...
