Hi I have been trying to load Sailwave onto a newly acquired laptop Dell Latitude E6420 running Windows 10 but it refuses with a warning that Winhas found a problem and is looking for a solution. Its the first time any software has caused a problem. Any thoughts?
Ian
Panic over - it conflicts with Teamviewer 11. Exit that and all is well. Apologies for wasting time.
Ian
Hi Ian,
Sorry to hear of your problem. By any chance do you have
TeamViewer installed on the newly acquired laptop? If so there is
a known problem.
Other than that are you able to provide any more information like
any error messages. Also what anti-virus software do you have
installed?
Kind regards,
Huw

Hi Ian
Team viewer tries to patch other programs unfortunately it doesn’t always do a good job.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/oubxg7gh79dksa8/sailwave.exe?dl=0
Which is the latest installer also contains a program which stops TeamViewer attempting to patch other programs.
So if you run this version it should be fine. Jon

Hi Huw
I should have been more explicit. It was definitely Teamviewer which confllts with Sailwave. Without Teamviewer loaded all is well. I am using Avira antivirus but there appears to be no no issue with that.
If there is any more you need let me know.
Regards
Ian

Hi Jon
I assume it was intended I replace the existing .exe file (2.19.8) with the bin file you sent (2.23.4). Windows 10 initially wasn’t going to let it run but I intervened and “ran it anyway”, Avira scanned it and it ran OK without Teamviewer. Unfortunately with teamviewer loaded it refused with the Windows message "Sailing Scoring Software has stopped working. BTW this was with Teamviewer 12 - I updated it i n case there was an update there but not the case. I guess this is not what you expected. I will revert to 2.19.8. It’s not a problem to me but if I can be of assistance let me know.
Best regards
Ian

Hi Ian,
My apologies - I intended you to send you the link for the latest installer which is https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/220425/sw2_22_1.exe
This is an installer for Sailwave 2.22.1 and also runs a program Teamveiwerfix automatically when it installs.
You can if you like just run the Teamviewerfix program with 2.19.8 which you can get from https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/220425/Teamviewerfix.EXE
The link I actually sent you was to the very latest version of Sailwave which is an exe only. (so you get a bonus)
I was trying to be clever answering it from my phone rather than getting of my backside and going to the desktop. Sorry.
Jon

Hi Ian,
There should not be a need to revert to the previous version of
Sailwave. If you have used the most recent full install of
Sailwave there should be in the Sailwave folder a file called
TeamViewerFix.exe, running this file should apply a config to
TeamViewer that will get rid of the problem. Jon will be able to
explain what it does in more detail if you are interested.
Kind regards,
Huw
