Save the Juries from an avalanche of paper

I'm fed up with watching the results team using modern technology whilst the judges are still using goose quills and parchment....

Does anyone know of a useful, preferably free, piece of software that will save us from an avalanche of paper. Software compatible with and integrated with Sailwave would be even better.

Gordon

Gordon,

I am not aware of any currently available software that is free, but

willing to be proved wrong. What sort of functionality do you have
in mind?

I do know of a system that is used at Sail for Gold, RYA Youth

Nationals and other events in which SailRacer is involved but so far
it has no integration with Sailwave; still manual notification to
the scorer of any Jury decisions requiring a change to scoring.

Kind regards,
Huw, Chief Scorer RYA Sail for Gold, RYA Youth Nationals amongst

others

Just had my first experience as protest convenor at a big regatta - life is less complicated when hearing the protests.

Basically, I feel that we need software that allows Jury Secretary to enter each detail of a protest just once and generate all the documents necessary:

- schedule of hearings
- decisions
- information for scoring

and feed this to the website and/or generate paper for posting.

Even better would be a system that automatically texts to parties to a hearing with time and place.

Hi Gordon,

Thanks for quick reply and commiserations.

The system SailRacer has developed can do most of the things you

have in mind and it is continually evolving. Simon Lovesey how is Mr
SailRacer, I think is a member of this forum, so may respond. If not
I can provide you with contact details.

Kind regards,
Huw
