Is it possible to run a series, consisting of a number of fixture
dates with a multiple of races per fixture date.
An example is, a series of racing events at a variety of venues
round the country throughout the year. Each venues results are
resolved to a ranking for that event (and prizes awarded). The
results of each event, (as a resolved ranking) is then carried
forward into the series scoresheet. Thus the days racing for each
venue event appears in the series as though it was a single race.
The resolution for the series then determines the annual championship
Can Sailwave accommodate this method of score keeping?

I'm not a power user but.... This works for me. And I LOVE Sailwave.
Each weekend is a "short" series with no discards. US Portsmouth or one design results and bragging rights are established Sunday afternoon. Guests are welcome.
I maintain a separate "long" series for the season. Results come from the weekend printout. In this season series the points go with the member skipper NOT the boat. He can switch boats! In our club 1/3 of the season races are discards and 1/3 of the races are required to qualify for the season championship.
In the "long" season series DNC, discards, and a number of other details work differently than in the weekend series. Since the "short" weekend series and "long" season series are fundamentally different, I don't attempt to merge anything. Different game.
Come visit when you can. We have the best sailing venue in the state

Hi Roy,
I would suggest creating a separate Sailwave file for each "fixture date"
(event?).
Then, create a new file, with no races (The series scoresheet). Use the
sailwave File->Merge option to merge in each of the "event" files. In the
merge options, you will have the opportunity to select: "Merge competitors
and create a new race using the series ranks from the merged series". This
will create a single race in the series scoresheet which will use the
overall rankings from all the races in the event file.
Have I explained this clearly enough, or do I need another cup of coffee,
and try again?
Regards,
Patrick

Hi Patrick et al,
I agree that's the best approach at the moment. The merge from overall series ranks to a single race was added for that purpose. It's a litte clunky but you only have to do it once per sub-event and means you can have a rolling meta-event results as well.
