Scoring a series by competitors who have been sailing different boats

Hello,

I’m very new to using Sailwave so this may be possible but I’ve not been able to find it yet…

We have race series to score, and we award results at the end of the series to the person at the helm. The trouble is we have many boats and a helm may race an I14 one week, a Solo the next and then an Aero 7 the next.

At the moment the way I score this is to have a single entry per helm, and then I adjust the handicap for the race depending upon the boat they sail.

The trouble with this is when we submit to pyonline the classes will be non-existent. To get around this I have thought of creating an entry per helm per boat, but this will cause me issues scoring when we have races of 16 with 8 discards.

Is there any option to score the series by competitor irrespective of the class they sail?

If this is not clear I’ll give an example to make it clearer!

Thanks in advance.

Steve

Following on from this, I’ve now changed the series so I’m entering all the results by sail number. This will allow me to submit the results to pyonline at the end of the series.

The problem I have is when I score the series I want the competitor to be scored as 1 entry, rather than 2. If you look at the attached screen shot where I have scored the series, RW has sailed a Firefly in one race, and an Aero 7 in another. He is scored as coming 5th and 6th.

What I want is to merge all of his results so he just gets one result overall in the series. Is this possible or do I need to do this manually?

Hopefully I’ve explained this better this time.

Thanks,

Steve
