The description for Appendix A scoring codes generally follows that in RRS A10, however the description for NSC in Sailwave is “A boat did not sail the course as defined rule A5.1” whereas A10 has “Did not sail the course (other than DNC, DNS, OCS and DNF)”
Could the Sailwave default be changed to “Did not sail the course”?

You can change the description yourself but that would be only for the Sailwave file that has been changed. You could create your starting Sailwave file and use that for all new ones going forward, by opening it and then saving with the name for the new series.
Jon may pick this up and make the change in some future version of Sailwave.
