We run a series of fleet races for the summer which involves
44 races; there are several boats in the fleet that travel to open meetings
throughout the season too. Our qualifying criteria and scores to count are
sailed races /3 plus 1. Some of the travelling boats don’t qualify
because they are away so we have a rule that lets them count 4 races providing
they are racing at open meetings on days when racing took place on the club
water. The score is a Q but does not give them points and cannot change
the place in the standings.
DNC does not score points or count for qualifying races; how
does it do that and could I use the same method with a different code name??
If I write a new code and ask sailwave to score the same as
DNC it doesn’t do what I want it to do.
The variable s counts starters, as all boats except DNC… The code DNS neans that boats were in the starting area but could not start (example, after a collision during the starting procedure, or if there is too much stream to cross the line).
You should test it but this can also an influence on the points of the other boats…

Intrigued by the question as we may have a similar situation at our club.
Assuming this is a Low Point system, how does a Q not "give them points" and not benefit that boat with an effective score of "0" for that race. Does it not get an equivalent score to that of DNC (i.e. series fleet +1)?

These seem to be missing a Panama and Northern Ireland option. Is that
correct and could they be added?

Just found them. They don’t exist as one of the drop down options, but if you type in PAN and NRI in the Nat field they display the flags accordingly. (As well as an XXX ‘blank’ flag/nationality for the unknowns.)
