I have a regatta where there are different classes of boats… some are scored based on elapsed time (NHC/YTC rating) but other boats are based on place (1st, 2nd, 3rd)
how can i build a series that can score all boats based on elapsed time OR place…
I have categorized the boats based on fleet - i think sailwave is scoring all fleets by elasped time when i need sailwave to score differently depending on fleet in the same series

Hi Ant,
To score different fleets by either Corrected Time or Position as appropriate, you need to do a couple of things if I have understood you correctly. Here is a shortish answer, which I hope you will find useful. If you need a longer more detailed answer then ask.
Firstly for each race set up a start for each fleet in each race. Right click race column header and select ‘Edit race’. For those being scored as place finish select place as the finish type and for those being scored NHC/YTC select either finish time or corrected time as appropriate. Also configure what fleet is on what start.
Now configure scoring system by clicking Scoring system on the toolbar. Click Rating tab to determine what is the default rating type, in your case I suspect either None or RYA NHC (YTC). Now click on the Fleets tab and configure a scoring system override for the fleets being scored differently to the rating system that was selected on the Ratings tab, i.e. if Ratings tab has None selected then you will be configuring rating overrides for fleets being scored using RYA NHC/YTC. To change the default scoring configuration for a fleet you have to uncheck the inherit box.
