Scoring mixed PHRF Fleet and also results for just the Sonars in the Fleet

We have a division 1 series that includes 7 races. The fleet consisting of Sonars, J80s and a J24. They all race under PHRF TOD. The distance is the same for all boats. Is it possible to only enter the times once and obtain results for the mixed fleet and also results for only the Sonars without creating a seperate file and entering the times twice?

Thanks,

Quick answer Yes, use aliases.

The Sailwave guide describes how to score a fleet with Men and Women combined and seperated.

SCORING A FLEET WITH MEN AND WOMEN COMBINED AND SEPARATED

When you have a fleet such as the 470’s that want to be scored both as a combined
fleet and separately as Men and Women’s. To avoid having to score the regatta
twice, once for the combined and then with the men and women separated use the
Alias option.

Enter the competitor twice once in the 470 Fleet and then enter the same
competitor as an Alias of the first in the 470 Men or 470 Women Fleet. Sailwave will use
the results from the base competitor when scoring the alias, producing the required
two sets of results from one finish position.

I my previous response stating that you can use aliases, I assumed that the Sonars, J80s and a J24 will not only sail the same distance, but the same course and start at the same time. A have included some links to results that show what can be done using aliases.

At Long Beach Race Week the Fast 50 fleet was scored using PHRF TOT. The Fast 50 class included several TP52’s and boats that had IRC ratings. To accomodate these two sub-fleets we added an alias for each boat that was a TP52 and another for each boat that had an IRC rating and included them in a TP52 Fleet and a IRC Fleet. Sailwave calculated the results for not only the Fast Fifity Fleet using PHRF TOD, but also the IRC using an IRC rating and the TP52 fleet as one-design. This was all done whilst only entering the finish time once for each boat. The TP52’s ended up being scored in all three fleets, PHRF, IRC and one-design.
