Scoring question

I usualy score handicap fleets, but have a question on OD scoring.
A boat registers with the wrong sail number, is scored DNC. Requests
redress and is given a finishing position. How do I insert this boat
into the results, say as 3rd and move all other boats down 1 place?

Do I have to reenter all boats, or is there a work around?

Yours
John Crawley

Hi, John!
Normally it depends on the redress, given by the protest comittee. i.e. if it shall move all other, or you shall have 2 3rds. You can use the tool "rearrange recorded places". in ver. 1.58 you'll find it under "tools" menu, and in later versions you'll find it under "edit"

regards,
Martin

Hi John,

The rules say that when giving redress the other boats are not moved; so you
would choose the RDG code and enter points for 3rd place.

Or, did the boat actually some 3rd - in which case yes, the RDG needs to be
given as above *and* a 3rd place entered. There is a tool to move everybody
down in the Edit menu (or maybe tools menu in earlier versions).

Hi Terry,

I think I tried Next/Previous at first but it needed too many buttons
because of combinations of save+next save+prev cancel+next cancel+prev etc.
I'll have a nit of a rethink because I agree the check box is a little ugly.

Colin

Hi Colin,

I really don't think that you need many buttons for this.

Previous - "Done" - Next

Done is just saving the entry and leave.
Cancel could be esc-button or just "cancel" below "done"

Previous and Next should just save the changes and go to next.

What if you don't want to save changes and go to the next?

As it stands you can go to the next record with or without saving your
changes and using the same buttons OK/Cancel used everywhere else.

What if you don't want to save changes and go to the next?

A "Reset" button could be added if needed for this
