Is there a way to do thi?

Hi Carol,
If you really do mean DNF, i.e . where competitors started
but did not cross the finish line, then automatically no, it is a
manual task.
However if you mean the competitors did not start and therefore
are DNC then Sailwave will do that automatically when the series
is scored.
If there are a lot of competitors that are DNF in a race it might
be quicker to create a CSV file of those sail numbers that are DNF
and then import the results into Sailwave. Information about doing
this and the format of the CSV file is detailed at
.
Kind regards,
Huw

Thanks. I do mean DNF as in 100 starters and only 70 finished. The race is scored and the last 30 get DNF.
I appreciate your response.

Hi Carole,
Yes agree it is a pain. Hope you don't get many races with lots
of DNF.
Just thought of something else you might like to try.
When using Sail Number wizard in the box that has the finish
place or finish time if using a rating system, if you press the
down arrow button a list of scoring codes appears. It is possible
to have the mouse cursor appear over the DNF code for every sail
number, so it is just a click to select. Still not as good as an
automatic solution but still quite quick.
Kind regards,

Hi Carol,
A fairly quick way is to sort them by clicking on the race number so you can see all the ones that don’t have an entry
Now if you want to set them all to a specific code such as DNF in your case
Select the top one with the mouse and press Enter then Alt D and then select the code DNF in your case and press enter
Now press
- Down Arrow
- Enter
- Alt D
- Enter
Repeat the above sequence for each competitor - I timed 30 competitors doing it this way and its less than 60 seconds
If its something you do really often then use a program - such as AutoHotKey which is free of charge to store the above sequence of keys to a single key and you can cut the time to just a few seconds
Let me know how you get on
