I am new to sailwave and need figure out how I can input the following qualification criteria:
- 10 race series.
- To qualify a sailor must complete 4 races.
- The overall must include results from races 6 or 10 and not count more than 2 results from races 1, 4, 7 & 8.
Not sure if there’s a more efficient way but a work around may be the following:
Turn the ‘Qualification profile’ on via the ‘User interface’. Set this to “4” via ‘Series scoring’ tab on the ‘Scoring system’.
For race 6 edit ‘Start 1’ and check the ‘This race is not discardable’ option. Repeat for race 10.
This is the clunky bit. Create a new Scoring code via the ‘Scoring system’ with a ‘Method’ of ‘Scored points + N points’ and set N ‘Value’ to say “100” (100 can make the visual checking easier on the results listing). You will then need to manually assign this code to the worst score(s) of races 1, 4, 7 & 8 for anyone completing more than two of these.
I’d also be tempted to set the DNC code as a fixed number of 100 points. As it’s a non-qualifying score it’s effectively redundant and again it can make the visual check (& mental arithmetic) easier on the results sheet.
I’ve not checked this but I think it could work.
(GP14 Grand Prix by any chance? I tried to mirror this in Sailwave last year and it seemed to work).
Sorry that might not work, just re-read and realised it’s “Race 6 ‘OR’ 10” not “Race 6 ‘AND’ 10”, not sure how the ‘This race is not discardable’ will behave. It may give a starting point though. (certainly as far as Blithfield :o) )
Cheers,
Andy
