Scoring total corrected elapsed time

Hi,

I’m trying to figure out how to score a series by total corrected elapsed time. We do a two day distance race and we use the Portsmouth handicaps to calculate corrected time. I am having to manually add the two elapsed times together. So far, I can only get the software to score low points, but I would like to score by low total corrected elapsed time. I can get it to display the times, but the ‘total’ column displays the low points.

In the user guide, I see that I can score the race with elapsed time and it says that the column on the right will have the total but I am not getting that to work.

I can export the data to Excel, but I can’t publish the results as nicely as SailWave does it.

Can it be done?

Hi Dan,

I understand that you have a single race over two days. I would enter the race start time based on the 24 hour clock on the first day and add 24 to the hour of the finish time of the boats on the second day. Sailwave will add the days to the time if the corrected time is over 24 hours.

Below is a screen capture that shows the day in from of the time

The next steps:

  • set the display to corrected times
  • sort the race in question by descending order
  • select the “Seed competitor field” tool and assign the values to the rank field. Start at one and with a increment of one.

I hope that I understood you question correctly.

Cheers,

Hi Dan,

If I understand correctly what you want to do. I think this will do what you want

http://www.sailwave.com/how-do-i-combine-leg-times-into-an-overall-race-time

Where what you want is each of the legs to be separate races

Let us know if this helps or I’ll look for some thing else
