Sending results to club website

I am a beginner at using Sailwave and I have entered my first series results. I want to send it to my club website/webmaster for posting on our website. How is that accomplished? Is there anything that the webmaster must do to post?

Bob

I am new too. What I do is publish the results, they will show up in IE or Firefox. Then I simply cut and past the results. It works quite well pasting into an email.

Bob

When I click on the publish tab I get “alt penalty.htm”. When I click on that I a dialogue box that says access denied.

Bob,

The simplest way of doing that is via email. First publish your results from Sailwave (Publish/ series summary, to a file on your PC). Then attach this html file to an email to the webmaster.

A more complicated method is file transfer (ftp) to put the above file into a location on your website, which the webmaster will then pick up to link to the rest of the website.

For this file transfer, there are two ways - either a stand alone ftp program (such as FileZilla) or the built-in Sailwave function.

Subject: [sailwave] Sending results to club website

I am a beginner at using Sailwave and I have entered my first series results. I want to send it to my club website/webmaster for posting on our website. How is that accomplished? Is there anything that the webmaster must do to post?

Bob

Hi Bob

I like Mals idea.

Look at our results page at

http://www.greatlakessailingclub.yachting.org.au/

We are a small club so you can see we only have a small fleet. Your looking at the seasons results so far.

What I so is publish my results to a installed destination.

Then I select microsoft word as my destination application.

Here I can play with the text layout and orientation etc. When I am happy with the page I select all and copy then paste into the web page. You can save your MS Word results in a variety of formats.

I have even saved the results as a PDF and then inserted the pdf page a picture in a web blog.

Cheers

Scott
