Hi
In our Local Cadet Week we run two groups of fleets within the
overall series, namely inside and outside. The inside fleets are the
novices/beginneers who we coach and support rather than with the
outside fleet which is run as normal. To encourage those cadets, in
the inside fleets, who are a bit apprehensive we reward effort in the
scoring system in a number of ways and one of these causes problems
in sailwave.
We use different scoring for DNC/DNS/DSQ between the two fleet groups
and Sailwave appears to only allow a single scoring system for a
whole series. I could of course split the series into two (inside and
outside) and hence work around the problem by running Sailwave as two
series but I would prefer to run as a single series to allow a
consistent tally number system and make swapping between fleets
easier as well as easing the job of the volunteer running Sailwave
for the week. This boils down to being able to use a different
scoring system for each fleet within the series.
Any ideas?
cheers

Hi Martin,
I'm gradually moving towards being able to define the whole of
Edit+ScoringSystem (and Edit+Prizes) on a per fleet basis and have
overlapping fleets but it's not there yet. Sailwave was initially conceived
on a one-fleet per file basis with the ability to have multiple fleets
loaded in the user interface at any one time - but it became clear that
users prefer everything in one file. For now, if you decide to continue
with Sailwave, you'll have to use two files...
Regards,
Colin

Hi Colin
OK. Thanks for the prompt reply. I will use the two file method for
now and look forward to future versions.
thanks again
