Setting up a template

Can anyone help please? I would like to set up a template for results.
This would have the result matrix with the column titles across the
top. At the moment there is a row inserted between the column titles
and the columns of results. Also, as the results are pinned up at the
end of each days racing it would be useful to use a larger font - I've
used Ariel Black 12 point. The title of the table would be set up
using the 'Title' entry in Publish.
Now, I realize that I can do all of this in Word but it is time
consuming to do it for 8 fleets while holding a beer in my left hand.
The results are only posted in print form.
Is this something a mere mortal can do or should I go back to
parking the boat trailers, and let someone experienced do it?
   Thanks, Donald

Donald,

Most, but not all of, the styles in Sailwave 1 are sensitive to the
font used on screen - so just make that bigger to get a bigger font
on the paper. if it doesn't work try using the default style - which
I know takes it's lead from the screen. The blank row is paobably
because you've ticked the box to print race dates when publishing -
untick that box if you haven't actually set up any of the race date
fields.

printed readability problem. My other query is about the table of
results. The top row is the column definitions - Pos, Sail No etc. The
second row down says, in my case, Laser Fleet - Sailed: 3 Discards: 1
Ratings: None. The third and subsequent rows are the results.
I don't want to see row two. I fired up an HTML editor but couldn't
find anything in any of the styles that I could delete to remove the
row. Even moving this row above the column definitions would look better.

software works. Your cheque is in the mail!
Thanks again, Donald

Hi Donald,

The row you are referring to is a fleet summary - it's required if there is
more then one fleet in the results. In your case perhaps there is only one
fleet and so it looks superfluous. If you remove the data in the fleet
field of each competitors' details (you can do that for all competitors from
in one go from Edit+AllCompetitors) the fleet summary line when publishing
will go away. Thanks for supporting Sailwave with a registration.

Hi Again Colin:

We are getting closer. Now that I know that the row is called the

"Fleet Summary" is it possible to move it above the column
definitions. In most data presentation it is desirable to have column
definitions immediately above the columns they are defining - not
separated. I can't get rid of the fleet info 'cos I have about 8
fleets to publish.
So, finally the question really is - Can I go in and modify some
line of programming to swap the positions of the Fleet Summary and the
Column Definitions? I haven't found where it lurks so far, not being a
'real' programmer!
  Thanks. Bye, Donald

Hi Donald,

OK, I see what you mean now. No, there is way to change that at
present. But interestingly in Sailwave2 I've separated the fleet
results into separate tables, each with an individial header 'outide'
of its associated table of results; giving you exactly what you
want... I've done that so the tables can be indexed from a contents
section or (at some stage) be published to separate files etc.
