SMTP setup

I need to set up my smtp server. I use gmail and have tried a number of combination. Any advice out there???

Sometimes you will be restricted by your ISP and have to use their settings. Eg btinternet would need you to use mail.btinternet.com together with your btinternet login and password

Gmail requires SSL encryption or STARTTLS for sending email. I'm not sure Sailwave supports those. I tried them both as a test and they failed, but it could be my own setup.

Anyone know?

I have also been unable to get gmail to work. I would be interested in a solution.
