Solve my problems to guidelines!

Hi,

Last week we had The Swedish Youth Nationals i Båstad. 500 dinghies
on 3 courses.

The regattaoffice had some problem with Sailwave, and while I was
there with my 2 sons I was backup and support for the results. To be
added. they had companylaptops with XP and we had som problems
software/hardware... - minor!

But we had big problems with the results in the optimist class. So I
will just give you the information about the format so we can create
a guideline for the future.

1. Boys and girls are separated into different starts. The boys are
divided into 2 starts and the girls in 1 start. We had 160 boys and
80 girls.

2. The girls (YELLOW) are sailing a straight serie with 10 races.

3. The boys (GREEN and WHITE) are sailing 5 races. After 5 races
they are rearranged into GOLD and SILVER (approx 50/50).

4. The rank after the first 5 races is the result in the
first "final" race/start. This means that for SILVER on first rank
will start from approx 40 as the result!

5. 5 more races are sailed in the final for both GOLD and SILVER.

How to set this up and score it right without loosing anything?

Anders,

I will take a longer look at this for you tomorrow, just got home and have a a car with a dead battery to sort out.

Couple of questions though:

  1. Were you trying to do this all in one file?
  2. Can you let me know the discard profile for the boys & girls? - I doubt I could read the SI as my Swedish is non existent :wink:
  3. can you send me a set of results preferably in Sailwave file?

Anders, i would have used 3 files. girls, boys Q
and boys F. Sailwave is fairly limited in what it can do in one file.
But it has the ability have have N files loaded into the UI at the same
time.

Anders,

I have done a little research and I think it may be possible to do
what you were looking for in one Sailwave file. However, before going
into my thoughts I would like to folow them through with the regatta
file that you were using, together with discard profile for the girls
& boys groups.
