Hi. Our youth fleet currently sails with the slow handicap fleet. I currently score them separately as a Youth fleet but would like them to appear in the slow handicap fleet as well. Anyone tell me how to do this?
Hi John,
The Sailwave functionality you need is called 'Aliases'. This
functionality has be turned on and this is done by selecting ‘User
interface’ under the ‘Setup’ on the menu bar. When the window
opens check the ‘Competitor aliasing’ option.
Information on how to use the aliasing functionality please
initially read the appropriate section in the ABYC Sailwave Users
Guide
[].
Then if you have additional questions then please do get in touch.
Using 'aliasing' you only have to enter finish data for a
competitor once and that data is copied to the aliased competitor.
You are best off if you include a separate start for the aliased
competitors, in your case the the Youth Fleet.
I would have the youth competitors main 'record' as part of the
Slow handicap fleet and alias the youth competitors and then ‘tag’
them as Youth in the fleet column, assumig you are using the fleet
column as the grouping tag to score by.
Hope this all helps.
Kind regards,
Huw

Thanks Huw. I always wondered what aliasing was all about.
