Sponsors logo's

Is there an easy way to put multiple sponsor logo’s/links on the bottom of a results or competitor list.

Thanks

Hi Keith,
You have a few options.

a) as standard for the headers you have two burgees - depending upon how many sponsors you want to display one in each or combine some into a single image.

b) The Headers and Footers can be totally customised.

There are files header.txt and footer.txt in the Sailwave\Templates folder which is HTML which you can modify to have whatever you want.

You can even have multiple versions by modifying the folder that is the designated templates folder - see the Setup Global options

Hi Keith,

the short answer is yes it is relatively easy.

I usually create one composite image of all the sponsors logos but

if you want to include links to the sponsors the you will need to
do a bit more work in including all the sponsor logos and getting
them to look balanced in size and position.

You can see an example of something I have done at

You need to edit the file footer.txt in the templates folder. The

following is something I prepared but did not use in the end for the
29 European Championship, which could easily include code to link to
sponsor web site. Note - Do not remove the first 3
lines because. if you do you would not comply with the condition of
free use of Sailwave.

      <p class="hardleft"><a

href=>venue.web<a
href=>venue.email

`event.web``event.email`

Sailwave Scoring Software `version`

Companies and organisations supporting the event:

venue burgee venue burgee venue
burgee

If you wanted to have a header banner you could do that by editing

the header.txt file in the Templates folder. Note the
Templates folder I am referring to is the one specified on the
Folders tab of the Global options on the Setup menu.

Hope that gives something you can work on /use.

Kind regards,

Huw

Thanks for both these tips I will have a play and see what I can do.

Ideally we want Club burgee, class and title sponsor at the top and rest of the supporters at the bottom.

Thanks

Keith

Hi Keith,

You can do what you would ideally like. It is just a matter of

deciding what layout is appropriate

Look forward to seeing what you decide on layout.

Thanks for this I have had a good play, and for the
moment just gone simple with extra logo.

It has raised possibly another question though. Is
it possible to have a page with all the headings static and the table scrolling
in a frame?

Preferably with a frame that refreshed, currently we use a raspberry pi with iceweasel (firefox) to display the results in the club, there are 2 addins to firefox, the first scrolls the page, the second reloads it once the scroll has finished, this works most of the time, however from time to time when a race result is added and the page it reuploaded, if the firefox reload and the remote sailwave upload happen at similar times, then firefox goes to a blank screen and doesn’t reload so a different way of achieving the same thing would be good.

Thanks

Keith

Hi Keith,

Good question but currently the answer to your question is no. I

am not even sure if it would be possible but I will investigate.

I have attached a scroller effect which may overcome the problem

you are occasionally experiencing with Firefox reloading at same
time as Sailwave upload happens. Copy the file to the Javascript
folder. To make use of the effect and others when publishing in
the second window ‘Destination options’ click the ‘Effects’ button
highlight scoller in left pane and then click >> to place
in right hand pane. The Javascript code will be included in the
HTML file and then when the file is opened in a browser the
results will scroll down and when the bottom is reached will jump
back to the top and start scrolling again.

Kind regards,

H Keith,

I have found a possible piece of coding and I am asking Jon who

is the man that does the coding magic if it is something use to
include in the scroll effect.

Not promising anything but it does seem possible to do what you

have asked.

I think it should be fairly easy to create that. Just create a static page with a frame that points to the html file you are using for the Sailwave results. In the main frame you would put the stuff like title, sponsors, etc. that doesn’t change. Then use the header.txt and footer.txt files to trim the stuff you don’t want out of the final results that go into the results frame.
