Hi
I’ve recently updated the PY ratings file and now when I try to upload to RYA PYSOnline it seems that the Sailwave can’t find the configuration data. I’m not sure whether this comes from the ratings file or is it remembered from previous submissions and is this influenced by a change of PY number?
I will take a look at the issue you are having and get back to
you later today. To help me investigation could you please let me
know which version of Sailwave you are using? Also when you say
“recently updated the PY ratings file” is this a version
downloaded from the Sailwave web site or a custom version.
The configuration data does not come from the ratings file,
although it might be possible as I have included the data in the
RYA ratings file for the last couple of years.

Hi Huw
Thanks for your response.
I am running the latest version of Sailwave.
Your explanation that the configuration data does not come from the ratings file, partly explains it’s absence.
When I start a new series I normally take the previous one, delete the races and start over. This has seemed to preserve the configuration data in the past but not this time. I have gone back to earlier series which I have successfully uploaded and the data is now missing.
Is it possible that updating the Sailwave version may have removed the data?
Our py list is a mixture of mainly regular py’s, some of the limited data py’s and a few of our own. So rather than reload your py file I update the existing one by changing the numbers where necessary. This is working OK for py numbers.
It looks as though I will just have to re-enter the configuration data.

Thanks to Jon we have a found the problem. The path to find the
file that is read for the configurations is hard coded into the
program and does not respect the settings of
a) global options
b) the new default location for the C:\Users\Public\Public
Documents\Sailwave
Jon may fix this in the future. For now though, if you copy the
Plugins folder from the above path to the folder Sailwave.exe is
installed in [by default C:\Program Files (x86)\Sailwave] you
should now be able to auto-populate the configs for those classes
that name match exactly.
FYI - I will be creating a new file of config data in the next
couple of days, because the existing one is several years out of
date. Ideally it should be updated each year to reflect what is in
the file of PN’s downloadable from the RYA.
I hope the above information is helpful and understandable.

Hi Huw
That seemed to work. The configuration data is now “populated”. However I still get the message “configuration data missing” when trying to upload and error 400.
I’ve had difficulty before and usually succeeded eventually, but I’m beginning to wonder whether it’s worth it.

I’ve now checked the date formats and changed a couple of the class names to upper case and am now not getting the “configuration missing” message. I am still getting the “error 400” message. File attached. I’m trying to upload the whole series.

If you could share your Sailwave file with me and let me know which races you are trying to upload, I’ll have a look for you

I tried your file and it worked just fine - give me a call if you wish to discuss further.
You said you were using the latest version of Sailwave but your version was 2.25 from the file that you sent, the latest version on the Sailwave site is 2.28.0 perhaps you could try it with that version.
There is the problem which you pointed out (Thank you) that the auto population of the Config is not working (unless you move the file) this is fixed in version 2.28.1 - I’ll build a new installer soon but in the meantime, if you download and install 2.28.0 and then replace the Sailwave.exe with this one https://www.dropbox.com/s/7maxyhmj6r0jyr3/sailwave.exe?dl=1 version 2.28.1 you don’t need to move the config.csv
