Sailwave has a useful utility for doing team scoring. We use it for our inter club regattas. It calculates team scores on the basis of the top n team members in the final results.
However, I am asked every year if Sailwave can do the calculation on the basis of the top n team members per race, totalled for all races. This is to accomodate a top sailor who can't do all the races. e.g. this year a Fireball sailor sailed on Saturday but went off to play golf league on Sunday. Results in this way could be calculated semi manually, by sorting on club for each race and counting the top 6 per club (using excel to do the calculations).
The ideal solution would be for Sailwave to accommodate this, but a SWHelper function perhaps - Jon?
Perhaps an easier related request - to have a fleet selector in the team scoring function, i.e to do team scoring only on selected fleets. Currently separate SW files are needed for junior and senior fleets in order for junior and senior team calculations (or as another club did it with a combined file - deleting the unwanted fleet members).

Hi Malcom,
Certainly possible - When were you looking to use it?
I’m currently have to projects that I’m working on
a) An upgrade to the ISAF interface
b) An Excel interface.
b) could be enhanced to support your Team calculations

Jon,
Thank you - our next inter club regatta is end January, 2014, then an inter schools regatta and an inter club regatta in February and March.
But its not a train smash if it only becomes available later.
