Team scoring

Hi Everyone,

Happy 2019!

A member of the Toronto Windsurfing Club executive has suggested that we alter our weekly summer racing series by pairing an experienced racer with a newbie. There would need to be a combined cumulative team score for both individuals as well as separate individual scores for each race. Could Sailwave do this on one score sheet or would this have to be done on several? As this would be over a whole season, it would involve somewhere between 50 and 60 races.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Nick Cox

Hi Nick,

Sailwave can produce team scores, you just have to tag each pair

in the team column/field with the same text string. The team
scores cannot be calculated and presented on a race by race basis,
the team scores are an overall series thing. An example can be
seen at

If that was OK you could publish after each weekend racing

showing the current team pairing state. The individual results for
each member of the pair would need to be viewed in the normal
series results. This could be made easier if you use the table
sort effect because you could sort on the team column and each
member of the pair would shown together. A set of published
results with the sort effect in place can be seen at
.
You can sort on multiple columns by using the CTL key and clicking
additional columns.

Look forward to your feedback.

Kind regards,

Huw

Hi Huw,

Thanks for your reply. I’m not sure what you mean by tagging each pair with the same text string in the field. Which field would I need to use?

Hi Nick,

Sorry my explanation was not clear.

By 'tagging' I mean using one of the fields/columns [Club, Nat,

Fleet or Class] and that field having the same text string in for
both competitors who make up the team. As this would be an
internal club team prize, I would suggest using either the Club or
Nat field and definitely not the Fleet or Class field/column.

Publishing of team rankings is done by selecting from the

Publishing menu 'Publish team rankings.

This functionality only works on the current series rankings, and

not for individual races. So you cannot using Sailwave produce a
combined result for the pairs for each race.
