A positive review of the latest Wine version

I have WINE 11 installed on two Linux distributions:

  • openSUSE Tumbleweed with KDE desktop where WINE 11.0-rc4 was installed using the system package manager together with Winetricks. So far under limited testing no problems have been found.

  • Linux Mint 22.3 (Zena) with Cinnamon desktop where WINE 11.0 was installed following instructions for Ubuntu 24.04 (Noble) on Wine HQ website, on which this version of Linux Mint is built. Also Winetricks was installed following instructions on Wine HQ website. Winetricks is needed to allow a ’White text on white background’ problem to be fixed. So far under limited testing no problems have been found.
