Hi Jrgen

Has this message arisen in the last 24-hours?

If so it is because Jon has obtained a certificate to allow
HTTPS to be used. Jon has used to obtain

sailwave.com in the URL.

We will investigate to see if any thing can be

Hi Jorgen,
This comes about as the Sailwave site has now been upgraded to https (as per the announcement on the Sailwave.com website) as required by the major browsers and Google who have announced that they will be warning that sites are unsafe from next month if they accept input of data but the site is not using https. So we have upgraded the Sailwave site to https

clicking on your link http://sailwave.com/results/Kerteminde/ks-rr-2017-result.html actually works fine for me using Chrome as it automatically adds the www and becomes https://www.sailwave.com/results/Kerteminde/ks-rr-2017-result.html. So no problem if they use Chrome

The link is safe so they could ignore it but the best solution is to add the www

and use then address https://www.sailwave.com/results/Kerteminde/ks-rr-2017-result.html

If you use http: the site will automatically redirect to https: so you can use either.

The next version of Sailwave will have the https://www. to replace the http:// in its link to publish

Hope that helps

From my point of view, a change of certificate is preferred, as it does not require a reinstal of sailwave and works on old links from our site.

Hi Jon,

I am having trouble uploading my results . I first experienced this on Sunday night Australian time.

Do I need to change the destination server to https://www.sailwve.com, and the base URL to https://www.sailwave.com/results?

I also changed from copper to the Australian NBN during the previous week.

Thanking you for your assistance.

Hi John,

If your problems were on Sunday then it is nothing to do with the move to https

The move to https was only done on late Tuesday evening the 5th September.

Additionally the upload is not affected as this uses ftp and works without any changes.

The only issue currently is when reading the results with some browsers.

The ideal url to read them from is https://www.sailwave.com/results/test.html where test.html is the file name

or if you want to read them without the encryption you could use results.sailwave.com/test.html these both work with all browsers that I’ve tested

The suggested link that Sailwave currently generates is http://sailwave.com/results/test.html which works fine with the Chrome browser but not with Firefox and Edge browsers.

The certificate for the site is for www.sailwave.com and the url redirection is on so I’m currently investigating why Chrome works for all url’s but Firefox and Edge want the www.

Hi Jorgen,

                                        This

comes about as the Sailwave
site has now been upgraded
to https (as per the

required by the major

announced that they will be

use then address https://www.sailwave.com/results/Kerteminde/ks-rr-2017-result.html

                                          If

Hi Mike,

Could you give me a screen shot of the message - when you say it says unsafe.

Is it your anti-Virus or is it Windows?

I’ve tested it on Windows 10 and edge and it is fine

Is this the message you get?

All this is, is a windows message that says that it’s not a program that they have seen thousands of download for and don’t know anything about it. Its a standard message that they display it doesn’t mean that it is unsafe only that they don’t know.

Regards

Jon

Any Apple Mac users who could check using Safari if any certificate warning messages appear.

If you use any browser / operating system other than the following, it would be appreciated if you could check if any warning messages appear when typing in the address bar - sailwave.com - only.

Hi Mike

Or is it this message you get

This is only a message to say they don’t recognise the app all you do is click the more info and you get the window that says run anyway

As the message says Running this app might put your PC at risk - Their way of saying we have no idea.

It’s just the way they do it now if there is a new program that they don’t know about.

Hi Jorgen,

This comes about as the Sailwave site has now been upgraded to https (as per the announcement on the Sailwave.com website) as required by the major browsers and Google who have announced that they will be warning that sites are unsafe from next month if they
accept input of data but the site is not using https. So we have upgraded the Sailwave site to https

clicking on your link http://sailwave.com/results/Kerteminde/ks-rr-2017-result.html actually works fine for me using Chrome as it automatically adds the www and becomes https://www.sailwave.com/results/Kerteminde/ks-rr-2017-result.html .
So no problem if they use Chrome

The link is safe so they could ignore it but the best solution is to add the www

and use then address https://www.sailwave.com/results/Kerteminde/ks-rr-2017-result.html

If you use http: the site will automatically redirect to https: so you can use either.

The next version of Sailwave will have the
https://www. to replace the
http:// in its link to publish

Hope that helps

Hi Jorgen,

                                                      This comes about as the

have upgraded

it but the
best solution
is to add the

Re: [sailwave]
This site is
unsafe

Hi Jorgen,

                                                      This comes about as the

Sailwave site
has now been
upgraded to
https (as per
the
announcement
on the
Sailwave.com
website) as
required by
the major
browsers and
Google who
have announced
that they will
be warning
that sites are
unsafe from
next month if
they accept
input of data
but the site
is not using
https. So we
have upgraded
the Sailwave
site to https

clicking on your link http://sailwave.com/results/Kerteminde/ks-rr-2017-result.html
actually works
fine for me
using Chrome
as it
automatically
adds the www
and becomes https://www.sailwave.com/results/Kerteminde/ks-rr-2017-result.html .
So no problem
if they use
Chrome

The link is safe so they

could ignore
it but the
best solution
is to add the
www

                                                       and

use then
address https://www.sailwave.com/results/Kerteminde/ks-rr-2017-result.html

                                                      If

you use http:
the site will
automatically
redirect to
https: so you
can use
either.

                                                      The

next version
of Sailwave
will have the
https://www . to
replace the
http://
in its link
to publish

                                                      Hope

that helps
