Thistle Nationals Scoring for DNF, Retired and TLE.

Hello All. I am prepping Sailwave for the 2012 Thistle Nationals. Everything is going well except for the scoring of DNF, Retired and TLE. The Thistle by-laws give the following explanation:

DNF, Retired and TLE shall be scored by adding the number of registered boats in that Division's race to the number of finishers, then divided by 2 (any resulting fraction shall be rounded up to the nearest whole number).

Please advise how I should set this up in Sailwave.

Thank you.

Hi

It would help me if I understood the meaning of * "number of

registered boats in that Division’s Race"* . Also what does code
TLE mean.

Unfortunately Sailwave cannot have a custom formula associated with

a scoring code at present. The Thistle class requirement is the
first time I have seen something like it; it seems to infer the
points fro DNF change on a race by race basis.

Under RRS Appendix A - Retired does not exist any more it is just

DNF. The only reference to Retired in Appendix A scoring is RAF for
Retired after finishing

Kind regards,
Huw

A manual way of doing this is to edit the codes, such as DNF to be the same way as RDG, with score entered manually each time. Pre-calculate this score for each race.

And you can create a new scoring code TLE, also as per RDG.

Are you using low or high point scoring?
