Tied races

Sailwave has two options for setting points for race ties; Averaged as per RRS A7 and Flat. I received a blw file which has the Flat option set and I can’t find a way to set the file to Averaged. I looked in the scoring system tab without any luck.

Hi Jon,

I checked that field and it’s not set. Below is the screen capture and I’ve attached the BLW file.

I can work around it. I was testing a very unique score which included a tie race and I just used this BLW file to test it.

Hi Peter,

The option that needs invoking is Setup | User interface “* Non-standard
race tie options*”. You then need to go to "Scoring system "
and select "Race scoring " tab. Now on the right-hand side
you should see three options available for a race tie:

  • Average points (standard Appendix A)
  • Shared points
  • NoneScreen capture of Race tab of Scoring system

Hi Peter,

I understand what you are asking now - you need to turn on the Non standard ties in the Setup User interface and then you get the race tie resolution as shown below

If you tick “Non-standard race tie options” in the “Setup/User Interface” window:

You will then find the choices you want in the “Scoring System/Race Scoring” window:
