Tweaking the new effects in 2.19.4

Many attributes of the new effects in 2.19.4 are hard wired - colours, placement of icons etc.

To customise them, you need to create your own effects folder (like templates and styles) and point Sailwave at it from Setup+GlobalOptions.

Feel free to ask how to make the changes if you are unfamiliar with Javascript.

NB: Make sure you put jQuery before any effects that are dependent on it (see the preview info when clicking on an effect in the selection UI).

Colin & Jon,

Where can 2.19.4 be obtained ;-)

Did you tweak the table HTML so TableSorter will work?

Kind regards,
Huw

Hi Huw,

Ah I was a bit premature with that - apologies to Jon - he’ll be announcing soon - I got the email from the website email subscription service.

The table sorter requires some error-prone internal tweaks in lots of places and will be in the next beta. You could do it now by writing Javascript to manipulate the DOM to add the necessary elements but it’s be ugly.

There is also the small issue of the summary tables sometimes having two header rows (dates+times I think). In those cases the table sorter may not work - depends on the options it has and how clever it is.

Colin,

Thanks for the new effects, they’ll be useful.

I’ve found when I open results in Chrome the FB and Twitter logos don’t load. The links work ok. I guess it’s some security option somewhere but I can’t find it. I have “Show all images” in Privacy - Content Settings as well as other defaults.

They load in Firefox and also in IE (when you allow blocked content).

Hi Peter,

I can’t explain that. I use Chrome and I’m not aware I’ve tweaked anything specific to allow those images - they are just images on the Sailwave server. I suppose it could be because they are being added dynamically (and look like malware advertising maybe) by editing the DOM but my Chrome doesn’t squeak.

If you go into the developer UI in Chrome does it tell you why they have not loaded? Ctrl+Shift+j

Colin,
Thanks for the reply and hint.
I’d tried it at the weekend on the club computer and found it was fine there.

With your hint I’ve found it was one of the filter lists in AddBlocker Plus extension.

Regards
Peter
