Simon Lovesy (on behalf od the RYA) has agreed
that the user can specify the format of returned dates - e.g.
dd/mm/yyyy - i’ve not designed the spec yet but i will asap and get a
new version out - the idea is that you enter the spec of your dates
when you do a return instead of having to change all the dates. I’ll
include an option of use ‘this’ date for all returns so that those that
don’t set up a date need not when doing returns. This will ease the
date burden a bit.
My first few series only went in if they were yyyy-mm-dd and its important that they are hyphens, not forward slashes. The last couple of series I put in worked with DD/MM/YYYY though, although it did pop up with a message warning me that it was changing formats.
The other thing that seems to prevent it from working is if you dont have a sail number for a boat. So if you have a blank box, put a question mark in to sort it out. The only other problem I have (still not resolved) is that Hobie Dragoon wont go in???
If you want, send me the sailwave file and I’ll have a look at it and see whats causing it to fail. I’m sure Chris Gandy will extend the same offer?
Found after many different attempts that the format that works for me is dd/mm/yyyy
However also had problm with no sail no. so allocated a unique club sail number to all boats without one.
On cruisers also get a headache in that the configuration of Outboard / Inboard / None not appearing to load with the result file so each race has to have this entered after loading to the site which is annoying and time consuming especially if you re-load a series because of one error in one race and then every race in the series has to be updated on the site. This is even further annoying as I get a problem of having to sign in after updating each race which means that with a series of 12 races I have to sign in 12 times.
Lastly also can not see races that have been entered and updated and also get someone elses races in my list of races to update.

If you are doing a Sailwave 'interface thingy' then it would be handy (for me! and maybe others?) if it could take short form dates, like '3 Nov' or '03/11' and convert them into RYA format. The reason being that I like to show the date on our series results summary table, and the long format is just too long!
I appreciate that I could use the Race Name box, but then with multiple races on the same day, that's too long too! Or am I missing something?

1. With regards to the Cruiser configurations, are you entering these into Sailwave before uploading the file? If no configuration is entered then you will need to add this at the "Confirm Data" stage in the website. This will add time to do the race analysis so would recommend adding this in at the Sailwave stage.
2. I cannot replicate your problem with logging in. Once you are logged into the website you should remain logged in for the duration of your session until you logout. If this persists let me know and I will get Simon to look at it.
3. I have looked at your login and see that there are six races waiting for processing. All seem to belong to PZSC as your boat is listed in some of the results. Can you give a specific example?
Found after many different attempts that the format that works for me is dd/mm/yyyy

Is any one else having these issues?

Entering Configuration in Sailwave prior to upload but every time I find the engine format is not being carried through.
Just gone back in to site and it showed 5 races on Evening One Series to update, if go to drop down selection showed two to update #8722 and #8727 then 8 races that I have not uploaded #3739 to #3746 which are headed “Thursday Evening Series - Start 1” go up to 8, all dated 24/09/2008.
When I selected #8722 no engine format , changed them and updated, allowed me to go back and do #8727 again no engine format but on finishing #8727 it dropped back to home page and required me to re-sign in.
If I sign on then showed 4 races which if I select by click on race and upload get the drop down selection select #8728, no engine data add and update, drops me out back to home page.
Can not see races that I have uploaded and have also uploaded two other series Offshore and Mid Distance which I can not see.
Also still have the problem of not being able to add to forum although can see and read present entries in forum.
Its almost as if the user rights are incorrect!
Will not change anything at present so you can get chance to duplicate the problem.
